How to evaluate supply chain risks, including sustainable aspects? A case study from the German industry

Purpose: Outsourcing transactions have been arisen and evolved in the last years purchase managers want to know if a Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) is an effective qualitative technique analyze supply chain risks (SCR) proper way. The aim of this study address question developing practicable risk management process based on guidelines ISO 31000 for upstream Supply Chain Risk Management (SCRM) linking assessment, identification, analysis, evaluation, treatment validate empirically through case study.Design/methodology/approach: After review literature Sustainable (SSCRM), leading manufacturer electrical products, collects evidences SSCRM implementation.Findings: disruptions are one most critical issues which can negatively influence firm’s performance. Avoiding mitigating main challenges managers.Originality/value: This paper identifies 31000, 9001 use FMEA structured manner outline future research opportunities field SCRM.
